Message from Twee:

Robert Svoboda says “you know your Yoga practice is working when there is peace in the household.” In less than 5 minutes, upon entering the sacred space, I knew the yoga was “working” at LivYoga where there is so much peace + shakti !  From the first moments upon entering LivYoga, welcomed by radiant smiles of open-hearted students + teachers, to the harmonious closing Om of the Ayurvedic workshop we shared....we ALL knew the yoga was “working” at LivYoga. Thank you Debby, Lynda, and the radiant Yogis of LivYoga for creating the space for us to share Empowered Vinyasa Flow Yoga + the Doshic Dance!   -- Twee

What is Ayurveda?

Both Ayurveda and Yoga are ancient disciplines developed in India over five thousand years ago. According to Ayurveda - which means the science of life - we are all composed of the five elements of earth, water, fire, air, and ether.

This special blend of these five elements is called our constitution or dosha, which decides the state of our own health and predisposition to particular  diseases. Originating in the ancient traditions of India, Ayurveda, is one of the oldest and now leading systems of natural health care in the West.  According to Ayurveda, each of us has a unique mix of body/mind principles which create our specific mental and physical characteristics.  These principles state that nothing exists in isolation, so that everything with which you interact:  your diet, family, work, relationships, even the style of yoga you practice -- has an effect on your health and well-being.

By knowing your own dosha and the optimal "formula" including what foods to eat, music to enjoy, essential oils to use, gemstones and colors to wear, climates in which to vacation or to live, activities in which to participate, even what style of yoga to practice, you can balance rather than aggravate your dosha.
