Levels 2-3, however it is suggested that you have no physical limitations and some prior yoga experience. If you have the desire and commitment, you are of course welcome as well as several variations of poses will be offered to fit with your current practice and experience.

Many of you have asked for Ashtanga to return to LivYoga. It has returned in the form of a 5 week led series and our hope is to make this a permanent offering at the studio. Once the led series is underway, we will work to find the right time to bring a once a week mysore class back to LivYoga. So many of you have participated in the prior Sunday morning led Ashtanga class or have taken one of our four previously offered Ashtanga workshops or our mysore class. Ashtanga is a discipline and a commitment and with both, participants undeniably see changes in their physical and mental being.
About Ashtanga Yoga
Asthanga was founded by Pattabhi Jois who just celebrated his 90th birthday during this past July’s full moon and still going strong - that is Guruji with Debby in May '05 in New York City.
Ashtanga means 8-limbs and is the most vigorous form of Vinyasa flow yoga. Ashtanga definitely appeals to men because once they do Ashtanga and see its power, they never think of yoga in the same way again! And it is ok if you are not flexible. You will gain flexibility - guaranteed! The first series of poses (asanas) are strength building and cleansing so that once you move into the Second series you are completing poses without effort and can work on calming the nervous system.
