Frequently Asked Questions About Teacher Training
What is the difference between 200 hour certification and 500 hour certification?
LivYoga offers a 200 hour registration with the Yoga Alliance. Aside from the obvious differences (such as time commitment and price), we at LivYoga believe in setting a proper foundation and then allowing teachers to “get their feet wet” and experience yoga teaching. This approach empowers each person to decide their own level of training and in what direction they may want to further study. In our experience, we have not seen any difference in the pay scale between the a 200 and 500 hour certification teacher.
There is no such thing as 300 hour registration under the Yoga Alliance.
What makes this program unique?
The teachers, the timing and the style all make the LivYoga teacher training experience a unique and powerful one! We believe in bringing yoga’s ancient tradition to the modern world.
After my 200 hour certification program, what next?
LivYoga will assist you in getting classes through our various contacts in the industry. LivYoga also had continuing opportunities available for work on the group class schedule, workshop series, off site and in house private lessons and special programs. The possibilities are endless…
What if I want to specialize my teaching?
Once we’ve set the foundation, you can decide to take your teaching in so many wonderful directions. Our teachers can assist you in continuing your development & recommending ways and programs get trained in the area that best suites your needs to fit your needs. Many of our teachers are personal friends with the most esteemed teachers in the world.
Most importantly, will I be able to teach at the conclusion of the program?
You will surely be empowered to do so and you will be given several opportunities to actively teaching during this program. We will give you all the tools and education necessary for you to find your teaching voice. The rest is up to you!
Does my 200 hours count toward a 500 hour program?
Most 500 hour registration programs will give you 200 hours credit if you are a RYT 200 (a Registered Yoga Teacher with the Yoga Alliance having graduated from a registered 200 hour school such as LivYoga). Each training program does have their own requirements so it is best to check directly with each organization prior to starting an advance yoga program for a RYT 500. LivYoga currently does not offer a 500 hour level (but maybe in the future)!
