Class Descriptions (On-going classes with no beginning &  no end)

It is recommended that you try different classes to explore the range of what is truly ‘yoga.’  The teachers guide the class but only you control your practice.

Carl

Kripalu Spiritual Flow - Unique and challenging Kripalu style series of flowing poses.  Take an ‘inspiring ride’.

"The energy mover – through his music, voice and clear focus, he is able to guide you into truly experiencing new openings and finding yourself able to enter poses from the heart. Usually very challenging classes.”  -- Pam L. Bernardsville,  Winner Best class description!

Chara

Kripalu Basic - A heart-centered approach, focusing on classical yoga postures, breathing techniques, body awareness and conscious movements, incorporating the philosophy behind yoga to take the benefits off the mat.

“Every month, Chara focuses on one of the ten foundational principles of yoga such as love, self-observance, etc.  During the practice, she expands the principles by using situations and observations of life.  It’s a beautiful, uplifting class full of spirit and love.  It’s challenging but there are always modifications so you fell comfortable in any posture.   --Jillian K. Morristown, Winner Best class description!

Debby

Vinyasa Flow - A vigorous class where each breath is linked to a movement allowing energy to flow.  Plan to sweat, have fun and don't worry, there will be options for many of the poses which means that you will do what you can and gradually progress to a more challenging level within a pose.

Ashtanga - The most vigorous form of Hatha yoga practiced as a sequence of postures designed to strengthen, heat and cleanse the body.

"Debby’s Ashtanga class is Mentally and physically challenging – learning how to breathe has changed my life.  Her ‘pearls of wisdom’ and weekly quotations are very meaningful and make a great impact on my life!” – Jill C. Short Hills,  Winner Best class description!

Erin

Flow - A creative, fun &  lively flow that emphasis meditation and movement while opening to challenging postures that you may not have experienced in your body before.   She quickly learns and remembers a students’ unique challenges and offers variations to guide a student to achieve their highest level of practice for each pose. In addition, it is beautiful and inspiring to watch her demonstrate each pose from the most basic, to the most challenging. I come away from every class with new awareness about one or several poses, which enhances my overall practice of yoga. --Debbie T. Short Hills, Winner Best class description

John

Basic (Anusara) - An invigorating workout through a variety of postures focusing on Anusara Universal Principles of Alignment to deepen your practice on all levels.

“John uses a balance of philosophy, posture, alignment and humor to create a supportive atmosphere where students get more out of their physical and spiritual practice.  All are encouraged to challenge themselves in postures using the Anusara principles, resulting in a new awareness and joy of the practice.”  -- Jen S, W. Orange Winner Best class description!

Liz I.

Basic - A stretch and strengthening class though a gentle flow of traditional postures and light touch techniques to nurture you into opening postures.  Class cultivates the connection between the body and mental blocks in muscle tissue.

Pilates & Yoga - Classes with a focus on ‘Pilates core’ incorporating an emphasis on alignment, breathing and elongating for healthy tone.  75%  of class is traditional Mat Pilates.

"Meet the marvelous, motley crew that is the Tuesday night class: teachers; physicians; executives; a bicycling enthusiast who dares to ride amongst SUVs(!); and others. We meet, humble, grateful and connected, in the present as Lynda, our teacher, leads the way...visitors are warmly welcomed and soon become a part of this unique, communal groove. We gather together to sit, smile, share, stretch, strive, sweat and savor the rest pose. More than anything, we laugh: that's our hallmark!" -- Christina H. Verona,  Winner Best class description!

Sarah

Basic - class uses creative sequencing with a blended approach of alignment and flow.   This class will challenge you, but, at the same time promote a sense of inner peace and serenity.

Sarah's unique style and combination poses drives each of her students to push beyond what they thought their limits were. You always leave her class with a feeling of triumph. Her creative motivation stretches both body and spirit. I think she stays up at night thinking of creative poses. It's so great to have teachers that LOVE their jobs!  --Beth L.
