Anusara

 

is a wonderful opportunity to develop a more meaningful and empowered life through the practice of yoga. Learn the techniques that take you deeper into your own blissful awakening of your true potential though the life-affirming teachings of Anusara Yoga. The curriculum includes exploring the depths of the Anusara system of yoga including Tantric philosophy, pranayama, alignment, practice, anatomy, journaling and contemplation. The Immersion invites you to step into the currents of Grace while providing a rich and transformative experience. Full attendance to all workshops is ideal, however not required.

 

It is assumed that students have had 30 hours of Anusara class time, have completed an beginner workshop or have permission from the instructor. New students, teachers and aspiring teachers are all welcome. The Immersion is NOT at teacher training, but is a pre-requisite for any Anusara teacher training.

About John

is an Affiliated Anusara Yoga Instructor & has a formal training in the style of Anusara Yoga with Todd Norian and continues studying Anusara Yoga with Todd and John Friend (founder of Anusara) as well as many other great teachers.  He is Yoga Alliance registered-200 hours.  John has always had a passion for fitness.  He began playing ice hockey in Livingston and took up weight-lifting in college.  In 1999 he was exposed to Yoga and started incorporating it in his weight training.  John eventually evolved totally from the gym to the yoga mat.  “I found I could get just as much of a workout in yoga, with much less strain on the body.”  John's passion for teaching comes from his desire to share his practice and the philosophies of yoga with others; His classes focus on Universal Principles of Alignment, present moment and body awareness, and the celebration of the Heart.  The experience is designed to have fun and bring the practice of yoga into everyday life in order to enjoy a richer and fuller life experience.
