LivYoga welcomes guest instructor from Sri Lanka
Paula
After completing her first yoga teacher training with
Alison West of Yoga Union in New York City in January, 2002, Paula has been
traveling the world doing what she loves best- teaching yoga!
She started her yoga teaching career in New Jersey and then
she went on to teach in Germany for 3 years. While in Germany, she completed a
second teacher training with City Yoga Berlin, an Anusara yoga studio.
In 2005, Paula moved to Singapore to teach yoga there. In
Singapore, she completed a third yoga teacher training with David Swenson, the
world-renowned Ashtanga teacher. She also led a yoga retreat at Club Med in
Bintan, Indonesia.
In 2007, Paula moved to the island paradise of Sri Lanka
where she currently teaches yoga and English. She is also pursuing a masters
degree in Yoga Philosophy and Meditation from the International Vedic Hindu
University.
Paula is back for the summer visiting her family in her
hometown in New Jersey where she began her teaching at LivYoga back in 2002 .
She joins us as a guest teacher through the end of August. Come and join Paula
for an uplifting, energetic practice of Ashtanga yoga. All levels of practice
are welcome.

Candy
In
the early nineties, Candy graduated college with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in
Dance but instead of dancing, she entered Corporate America and began a career
in Marketing. She attended her first yoga class in 1996 to reconnect to her
body, regain fitness and encourage creativity. Little did she know that yoga
would provide her an overall calmness in dealing with all of what life threw her
way. Candy completed her 200-hour Teacher's Training at LivYoga in early 2007.
Soon after Candy and her new husband found themselves expecting their
first child which lead her to attend Kelli DiFlora's Holistic
Prenatal Teacher's Training. After practicing all 9-months of
pregnancy, Candy was afforded a beautiful natural childbirth. Yoga provided her
a means to stay calm and present throughout labor and delivery and helped breath
the baby into the world. Candy's classes pull from her dance roots, gracefully
flowing from posture to posture.

style of Anusara Yoga with Todd Norian and continues studying Anusara
Yoga with Todd and John Friend (founder of Anusara) as well as many
other great teachers. He is Yoga Alliance registered-200 hours. John
has always had a passion for fitness. He began playing ice hockey in
Livingston and took up weight-lifting in college. In 1999 he was
exposed to Yoga and started incorporating it in his weight training.
John eventually evolved totally from the gym to the yoga mat. I found
I could get just as much of a workout in yoga, with much less strain on
the body. John's passion for teaching comes from his desire to share
his practice and the philosophies of yoga with others; His classes focus
on Universal Principles of Alignment, present moment and body awareness,
and the celebration of the Heart. The experience is designed to have
fun and bring the practice of yoga into everyday life in order to enjoy
a richer and fuller life experience. Class

Erin
first came to yoga in 1998 as a Rutgers University student.
Amazed by the healing impact that the practice had on her own life, she became
certified to teach by Stephanie Pappas soon after her college graduation. Erin
went on to earn her certification in Massage Therapy in 2003, and is currently
becoming certified as a life coach. Erin has had the honor of practicing
under the guidance of Ana Forrest, Heather Tiddens, Dharma Mittra and Shiva Rea,
along with many more of yoga’s most gifted practitioners. Drawing on her
invaluable experience with them, she practices and teaches spontaneous,
intuitive, and dynamic sequences, infused with the teachings of her favorite
authors, such as Ken Wilbur, Pema Chodron, and Joel Goldsmith. Erin primarily
teaches vinyasa yoga as inspired by Krishnamacharya, and in the spirit of his
teachings, reflects her fundamental belief that every practice is unique to it’s
practitioner. She encourages her students to approach movement as she
practices approaching life; playfully and curiously, with inquiry, observation,
awareness, and devotion. Class

Glenn

Glenn has been practicing Yoga since 2002,
primarily in the Iyengar tradition. He recently completed LivYoga’s Teacher's
Training program along with his wife Sarah, with whom the practice of Yoga is a
shared journey. Glenn currently works in Operational and Technical Management
and has for over 27 years. Always probing the esoteric, Glenn found his way
into Yoga several years ago. From years in business and previous decades of
playing the usual American sports, it didn't take long for Glenn to realize his
Body-Mind connection was non-existent. That journey that started with a Down-Dog
(and a really bad one at that), taught him one particularly important truth:
it's all Yoga...the postures, his love of art and history, meditation and
grinding out a living...it's all just Yoga. That is the wisdom he shares
through his teaching. Men's Series
Leigh
passionately
enjoys all the benefits yoga has brought into her life. She is a certified
elementary school teacher with a major in both special and elementary education.
She will be attending the Next Generation Yoga training program. She enjoys
passing on her love for yoga to the children and students she works with at
school, movement classes, and now yoga classes! Leigh believes students can
greatly benefit from the mind and body lessons yoga has to offer. These lessons
help children foster a creative and positive mind-set in which children
flourish. LivzKidz, MiniCamp
Liz B.

attends workshops whenever possible. She has had the opportunity to attend
intensive workshops with David Swenson, Seane Corn, Baron Baptiste, John Friend
and Rodney Yee. She had also attended seminars with Pattabhi Jois, Dharma Mittra,
Richard Freeman, David Life and Sharon Gannon, Shiva Rea and Ana Forrest. Liz's
classes are a slow flow linking breath and movement and connecting to body
awareness. Through this physical, vinyasa practice, Liz cultivates unlocking,
and finding the inner practice. Class
